The open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed Obrana a strategie journal (founded in 2001) is intended for contributors and readers professionally active in areas of security and defence: security experts, decision-makers, practicioners, military officers, scholars, students and anyone with an interest in security and strategic studies, international relations, political science, etc. from the Czech and international security communities. It is published twice a year in printed and online form. We accept original contributions, not published elsewhere, in Enlish (preferred and preferred and favored), Czech or Slovak languages for publishing.
The articles comply with the highest demands for quality and expertise of the author, they must meet the required quality and formal criteria and are subject to an obligatory double-blind peer-review process. Each issue provides space for reviews of domestic and foreign publications, and information service.
The online version has been always published in June and December each year. Deadlines are always on March 15th and October 1st each year. Contributions received after the deadline will be assigned to papers for the following issue of the journal or may be rejected.
Earlier submission is welcome (and is possible at any time before the deadline), as it allows the Editorial Board to assess the contributions obtained in advance per rollam, speed up the initiation of the review process, and provide the authors of such contributions more time for adjustments, if necessary. All received contributions, except book reviews, will be automatically considered as articles.
Those interested in publishing may submit their contributions prepared in accordance with the Guidelines for Authors and Ethical Standards by application Open Journal System. Obrana a strategie journal publishes articles without any processing or submission charges.
Authors who publish with the Obrana a strategie agree to the following terms:
- Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
- Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
- Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.
By submitting their contribution, the author confirms that they are familiar with the Guidelines for Authors, Ethical Standards and the Review Processand accepts them without reservations.
Original contributions or their reprints are not paid. Each of the authors and co-authors of a published contribution is entitled to one paper copy of the journal. If more contributions are published in a single issue of the journal, the author's copies are not added.
